Athletic Training
What is Athletic Training
Athletic training is a specialized healthcare profession focused on preventing, diagnosing, and treating injuries related to physical activity and sports. Athletic trainers work with athletes and active individuals to keep their bodies healthy, manage injuries, and ensure safe participation in exercise and competition.
Athletic trainers use a combination of injury evaluation, rehabilitation exercises, taping, bracing, first aid, and emergency care. They also design conditioning programs, guide proper warm-ups, and educate individuals on correct movement techniques to reduce the risk of injury. Their role goes beyond treatment—they focus heavily on injury prevention and long-term performance.
The goal of athletic training is to help people perform at their best while staying safe. Whether working with professional athletes, students, fitness enthusiasts, or active patients in clinics and hospitals, athletic trainers support recovery, improve strength and mobility, and promote overall physical wellness.
